Sorry to disappoint, but this isn't one of those famous blog posts where I ramble on with a list of things about myself that I think you all might find so fascinating ;)
This post is dedicated to goals. Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAGs).
As a health trainer, I spend time with my clients before we ever begin a workout or nutrition session, to discover what their vision of themselves looks like at their personal best. Sometimes, this is a difficult conversation because they really haven't taken the time to picture what true health & happiness means to them. And it's different for all of us. I know that when someone takes the initiative to book a session with me, it's not because they couldn't do a workout or a meal plan on their own. What they are truly hiring me for is to be their inspiration coach. And while I do put a lot of work into designing a killer workout or the best meal plan for that individual, I know my real job is to inspire & teach my client to discover that they have everything inside them that it takes to tap into the good life. The healthy life. And their time spent with me is really about firing up that healthy motivation.
In order for me to stay at the top of my game and to be in the best position possible to inspire these changes & habits for my clients, I rely on a few things throughout my week to help me stay fresh.
I first of all, keep track of what my BHAGs are through a fun online tool called 43 Things. It's free and a great way to keep yourself accountable. You can also view goals that other people have set if you're having a hard time coming up with some on your own. Here's what is on my current list:
A few of my favourite resources for 'getting her done' are:
~ Marc & Angel Hack Life: 8 Simple Steps for Achieving Anything. Their site is so full of inspiration - I recommend you bookmark it for the next rainy day.
~ Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy: The basic premise of this book is to do the hardest task on your list first thing in the morning. It will build crazy motivation & momentum to use through your day.
~Seinfeld's "Don't Break the Chain" Productivity Secret. Simple but super effective way to help you reach those goals. Works with the idea of doing one small thing every day that puts you closer to your goals.
You'll see that one of the items on my list is to focus on pre & post natal health. My favourite clients to work with are Mamas - I don't think there is anything more inspiring than a busy mother that puts the health of herself and her family as a top priority and leads by example.
I'm super duper excited to share that next week, I will be joining the awesome team at Rebirth Wellness Centre in London as their in house Personal Trainer & Stroller Bootcamp Fitness Instructor!!!
If you're in the London area - would love if you'd spread my exciting news!!
So tell me....what gets you inspired to live out your goals?
